News: Come the first weekend of December, R and I will be taking the studio work cross country for the Market Collective Cheer handmade sale in Calgary, Alberta.
There are so many great things about this event. The organizers have got a lot of info on their site here but let me give you a quick blurb: there's treats, a photo booth, live music, cocktails, workshops, and of course, lots of vendors, most of them local to Calgary. It's also put on by an organization that values art and it's role in the community. That's a great thing.
Another plus about this sale specific to me is that it allows for a road trip through the prairies and then mountains. I really like road trips.
Anyways, if you're in Calgary December 2nd-4th and are looking for a handmade shopping opportunity, here's what you need to know:
What: Market Collective Cheer, an Independent Market
Where: Chinese Cultural Center, Calgary Alberta
When: Friday 4pm - 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6 pm
This is my first time traveling with the studio, so I hope you tell your Calgary friends to come and say hi! I'll be there with pot heads, necklaces and headboards, and I'd love to meet some new people who make an effort to shop handmade.
